I am always trying to add new posts on here that aren't film reviews, because that can get boring after a while. So for a new segment, I thought to give a short review on any new trailers for upcoming films, and what better trailer to review than this trailer that was released yesterday?
Based on the mid-20th century comedy shorts, The Three Stooges is about, well, 3 stooges, who have to save their orphanage, and along the way uncover a murder plot and wind up starring in a reality TV show. It is produced, written and directed by the Farrelly brothers.
I have not watched any of the Three Stooges' shorts, but I do know of their humor style due to the large amount of times it's featured in pop-culture. It appears that the film is sticking with the original humor, as eyes get poked and Moe basically abuses Curly and Larry.
It's nice that a film (presumably) isn't going to rely on lazy swearing and cheap crude gags for it's comedy, but return to the olden years of slapstick. But the problem is slapstick is so over done that every bit of slapstick seen in the trailer is cringe-worthily bad. It also doesn't help that they go for the cheap and lazy jokes, like the iPhone gag as seen early on, the part where the characters are stunned by the hot nun and the lobster in the pants part. In fact, the only time I even smiled during this trailer was the dynamite part. I don't know why I smiled, but it felt so wrong.
The utter worst part of this trailer has to be Moe appearing in Jersey Shore in fake tan, allowing that Jersey rat Snooki to make an appearance in the film. If she doesn't get hit on the head with a giant bell, I will be disappointed.
Do yourself a favor: Just say no and avoid this film. Not Moe, stupid teaser poster, no!
But is it as bad as i'm making it out to be? Check out the trailer for yourself below, and be the judge.

Oh well, thanks for sharing!
....but yeah, I think I'm probably going to give this one a miss. An eyebrow was raised....
@Robert Yeah, Jim Carrey and Benecio del Toro were to star at one point, I don't know if it would've been good if they stayed on though.
@Ruth i'd have preferred if he hit her on the hid with the hammer
