Director: Alice Winocour
Running Time: 98 Minutes
Starring: Matthias Schoenaerts, Diane Kruger, Paul Hamy

Vincent (Matthias Schoenaerts) is an ex-soldier suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Looking to make money, he's hired to protect the wife (Diane Kruger) and child of a wealthy businessman while he's out of town.

Alice Winocour sets the tone with a contemplative mood, as Vincent perceives a probable threat punctuating the apparent tranquillity the luxurious villa, named Maryland. While the tone can drag at times, it does a good job of considering the possibility that Vincent's PTSD is fabricating the danger. The result leaves viewers on edge, especially while offset by moments of violence.

Leading the proceedings with a fantastic performance, Matthias Schoenaerts superbly puts across the simmering anger which underlies his character. Diane Kruger does fine work, which makes it a shame she's little more than the wife and mother in need of protection. The ending is especially disappointing, as though there was an uncertainty of how to end things.

Despite the moments which test the patience, Disorder is a pensive tale that's interspersed with short bursts of violence.
